Sample answer for contextualisation question

The sample contains three possible variations as answers –
1. Putting all the blame on Britain
2. Putting partial blame on Britain and partial blame on the different political parties in India
3. Arguing that Britain bears little blame for partition

To consider – how were the different arguments made and how were the arguments backed up with evidence.

Remember – the question is asking you YOUR opinion and asking you to explain why have this opinion and asking you to provide evidence to back up your opinion.

Was Britain to blame for partition during the withdrawal from India in 1947?
