Well the general consensus seems to be that students were happy with this years higher level paper.
Certainly there was a nice choice of questions across the range of topics. Most people were hoping for Katanga to come up in the DQB and the examiner duly obliged.
Some people may have had a little difficulty with the wording of the Nothern Ireland essays.
Essay 1 was on the welfare state and would have included talking about the Coleraine Controversy
Essay 2 on Brian Faulkner would deal with the Sunningdale Agreement and the collapse of the power-sharing government.
Essay 4 included the case study on the Apprentice Boys.
So all three case studies in the N. Ireland topic came up in the essays available.
Best of luck to all students for the rest of the exams and roll on August to the results. In the meantime it on to next year’s leaving certs to pave the way to Leaving Cert History 2014.
